20131224 “The Canticle of Zechariah”  Lk 1: 68-79; 72-5 “to be mindful of his holy covenant and of the oath he swore to Abraham our father, and to grant us that, rescued from the hand of enemies, without fear we might worship him in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.”

Salvation has brought forth mental freedom. GB

Once, we understand (think) we are eternally saved, then we are freed to worship and live, because nothing and no one can take away our eternal life. What leads us to think we can possess eternal life?  It is because Jesus saved us by his love and choose to show it profoundly by giving himself totally in satisfaction for the punishment due to us by dying the undeniable death of crucifixion.

reflections on Viktor Frankl’s quotes below

“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

“In some ways suffering ceases to be suffering at the moment it finds a meaning, such as the meaning of a sacrifice.”

“Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose.”

Suffering ceases to be suffering and becomes sacrifice once the meaning and purpose of life becomes eternal love. GB

“For the first time in my life I saw the truth as it is set into song by so many poets, proclaimed as the final wisdom by so many thinkers. The truth – that Love is the ultimate and highest goal to which man can aspire. Then I grasped the meaning of the greatest secret that human poetry and human thought and belief have to impart: The salvation of man is through love and in love.”

We can be humble, we can be a good finder, and we can genuinely care about people.  In Dale Carnegie’s book How to Win Friend & Influence People (found on the LIFE site)  Part two, chapters 4 through 6 show us that if we must go from being a great listener to talking, then let us talk about the other person’s favorite topic –  “themselves”.  If we learn this we will see their walls come down, trust being developed, and a beautiful relationship beginning and in the end you will be loved for focusing on a bigger picture – A CHANGED LIFE.
